Weinstein Publishes in Bluegrass Unlimited

Sept. 22, 2014. MA student Natalya Weinstein had an article, "Remembering Jim Shumate: Pioneering Bluegrass Fiddler" published in the September 2014 issue of Bluegrass Unlimited. Her article details the life and musical legacy of Jim Shumate, which began in the 1940s with performances at the world famous Grand Ole Opry alongside bluegrass legend Lester Flatt. Shumate was eventually inducted into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame in 2011 and his instruments were displayed in the North Carolina Museum of History in 2013.
